City Council Approves 2026-27 Budget
The Cozad City Council approved on September 28, 2026, the 2026-27 annual budget. The city is pleased to report the property tax mill levy was reduced by 1.1% to 35.066 even though the city’s largest revenue source, sales taxes, were essentially flat compared to the past few years. Also, like homeowners the city is experiencing increased operational costs related to fuel, supplies, insurance and equipment replacement. The adopted budget does include funds for providing the community dumpster as follows:
November thru March – Once a week - Wednesdays
April thru October – Twice a week - Wednesday & Saturdays
