City Council Meeting June 3, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.

The City of Cozad is a Tree City once again. "We are excited to share this accomplishment with our community. Our public spaces and streetscapes are enhanced by our beautiful trees throughout the city," commented City Administrator Nikki Schwanz. This distinction is the result of a several organizations working together for the betterment of our community.

We had another successful Arbor Day Program at Candy Cane Park on April 26th. The Treble Makers sang the National Anthem, the Scout presented the flags, and Community Forester Gregg Lemke shared some interesting facts surrounding Arbor Day. Our Board and Park's Department had some help with the tree planting from our poster contests winners! This year's winners were Averie Kinnan, Olivia Anderson, Ava Sturgeon, Easton Swanson, Dallas Gifford, and Piper Sturgeon. Board members pictured are Deb Leahy, Zach Priel, Lorne Laird, Jeremy Koch, and Mel Nutt. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it a great day on the City of Cozad!

Huge shoutout to Dawson Public Power District for assisting the City of Cozad today. Amazing equipment and crew provided to make this 70’ pole change out go smooth, even in the rain. DPPD was willing to set the first pole with their new truck to help a neighbor. This is another example of Public Power working together in Nebraska.

The City offices and the Wilson Public Library will be closed on Monday May 27th or Memorial Day! The City of Cozad would like to thank all of the men and women who have served to protect our freedom!
